SHIKA ACOLATSE - COUNTRY DIRECTOR OF ENABLIS GHANA

Shika has over 20 years varied and rich experience in: - entrepreneurship, Micro/Small/Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) development, training and management gained in Ghana and Tanzania. In these roles, Shika has assisted emerging entrepreneurs to identify and develop business ideas into profitable businesses, providing them with technical assistance for access to business finance.

She has experience with SMEs and linking them to mentors and business angels as well as to financial service providers (traditional banks, financial institutions, fintechs). She has won several awards for assisting emerging entrepreneurs to identify and develop business ideas into profitable businesses.

Shika has also served as resource person for various entrepreneurship development programs including specialized programs for women and young Entrepreneurs.

More than 8 years of experience in working in development cooperation, including work for GiZ and World Bank through work with Enablis and TechnoServe.

She has successfully led teams in the design and implementation of capacity building programs for the economic benefit of the food insecure regions in Ghana and has taught aspects of entrepreneurship to rural Tanzanian and Ghanaian youth. She has played key roles in the design and execution of several capacity building projects and program across several sectors.

She holds degrees in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship and SME management. She is also an accredited entrepreneurship trainer from the Network For Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), New York.

She has served as resource person for various entrepreneurship development programs, including the African Business Leaders’ Forum.

She has mentored finalists on various entrepreneurship contests, including World Bank’s Ghana Development Marketplace competition. She served on the Advisory Board of the Skills Development Fund. For many years, she has served on the panel of judges for the annual Enactus World Cup competition in Ghana, Mexico and virtually during COVID-19.

Shika is an active and committed member of Rotary International and a Faculty Member of the Rotary Leadership Institute, Ghana Division.
